DU and Partners Complete Observation Deck at McNary National Wildlife Rescue

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held recently at the McNary Wildlife Refuge in Burbank, Washington to commemorate the completion of a new observation deck.

Nichole Banegas, of the Tri-Cities Ducks Unlimited Chapter, coordinated the building of the deck in conjunction with the generous donations of time, labor, and materials by several local individuals and companies, including Hayden Homes, who oversaw the construction of the deck. In addition to the viewing deck, several rocks were placed in the area featuring plaques which recognize local Washington Legacy Greenwing Members.

McNary National Wildlife Refuge’s 15,000 acres of diverse riparian and wetland habitat provide a critical resting area for thousands of migrating waterfowl in the Columbia River Basin, as well as playing host to many other species of birds, reptiles, amphibians, and mammals.
