DU’s Western Region spotlighted during ‘Evening of Conservation’

Ducks Unlimited recently hosted a special ‘Evening of Conservation’ at Sacramento’s famed Sutter Club located just a block from the State Capitol, featuring Ducks Unlimited CEO Adam Putnam as the keynote speaker.

The evening presented an opportunity for DU staff, volunteers, and sponsors to learn about Ducks Unlimited’s most recent efforts to conserve and protect wetlands in California and around the Western Region, as well as opportunities to play key roles in DU’s future conservation work.

“Your voice as western conservationists is so prominent in our organization,” Putnam remarked. “We’re very proud of the strong membership base, the passionate volunteers, the extraordinary science and talent we have covering the entire western United States. Over the course of Ducks Unlimited’s history, we’ve proven how well the model of volunteers in action works to leverage funds to move mud and actually make an impact on the ground, and it’s thanks in large part to your efforts.”

Other speakers included Ducks Unlimited’s Western Region Director of Operations Mark Biddlecomb, Director of Development for Northern California and Hawaii Anne Hansen, and Senior Vice President for Public Policy Al Montna. DU Chairman of the Board and former President Paul Bonderson was also in attendance.
