In case you missed the official launch a few weeks ago, Ducks Unlimited is in the midst of a $2 billion continental campaign launched at Ducks Unlimited’s 78th annual convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. To date, the new “Rescue Our Wetlands: Banding Together for Waterfowl” campaign has already raised $1.1 billion.
“We must all do our part to protect and restore North America’s most important wetland resources for future generations,” said Ducks Unlimited President Paul Bonderson Jr. “Funds raised through Rescue Our Wetlands will allow Ducks Unlimited to protect more of North America’s most vital, yet threatened landscapes. This is the largest wetlands and waterfowl conservation campaign in history, and we are confident our volunteers and supporters will help us achieve our $2 billion campaign goal.”
Rescue Our Wetlands focuses on five priorities vital to the survival of wetlands as well as the waterfowl, ecosystems and communities that rely on those resources.
The heart of the campaign, this priority recognizes that our volunteers, members and partners provide the power to drive the DU engine. Event support and other sources of unrestricted revenue provide the broad financial underpinning for our conservation, policy and science programs.
Wintering and Migrations Landscapes
Investing in these vital landscapes will protect and restore wintering and staging habitats to ensure healthy waterfowl return to the breeding grounds.
Educating the public about the importance of wetlands and fostering the next generation of conservationists are key elements of this priority.
Planned gift commitments and endowment gifts will contribute to a strong, stable future for our mission and supporters.
