Now that the dust has settled from the elections earlier this month, Ducks Unlimited would like to congratulate and thank its California members who voted on November 4^th, helping pass Proposition 1—a significant victory for waterfowl conservation in this state.

Prop 1 is a $7.2 billion water bond that will directly help waterfowl in California by providing funding to support habitat restoration and enhancement for migratory birds. Ducks Unlimited, along with other conservation organizations, played a large part in the crafting of the bond to focus attention onto the plight of waterfowl in our drought-stricken state.

Prop 1 also supports our sportsmen’s heritage, allowing us to manage wetlands and waterbird-friendly agriculture so that future generations can enjoy healthy wildlife populations and robust hunting for years to come. Thanks to the support of Ducks Unlimited members like you on issues like Prop 1, DU will continue to be regarded as the world leader in wetlands and waterfowl conservation.
